The Chatham Kinsmen Club will be getting a helping hand through the Ford Motor Company of Canada's Drive One 4 UR Community program at this week's Kinsmen Fair.

The club is raising funds to help buy special medical vests to help Jaxon and Jayce, two young children with Cystic Fibrosis.

For every person who test-drives a Ford vehicle at the Kinsmen fair on Saturday, June 11, Victory Ford and Ford of Canada will donate $20 to the Kinsmen Club, up to $6,000.

"We know how important the Kinsmen's activities are to the Chatham area, and as part of this community, we want to help," said Don Leonard at Victory Ford. "This is why we're excited to raise money for Jaxon and Jayce, meanwhile introducing parents, teenagers and other drivers to our high-quality line-up and innovative safety technologies."

The event featured 10 new Ford vehicles including the Ford Focus, Fiesta, Mustang, Edge, Explorer and F-150.

Since the start of the program in 2010, more than 25,000 test-drives at more than 160 events have generated over $460,000 in funding for community programs.

DRIVE ONE 4 CHATHAM MINOR BASEBALL SATURDAY MAY 14TH @ FERGIE JENKINS PARK

Thank you to everyone that showed up and helped out for the day's events. We were able to avoid the rain to stay dry and there was fun had by all. Over 100 test drives were taken and we were able to donate over $2,500 toward the enhancements at the park.

Dave Rozema was happy to attend and meet the locals in the Chatham community. Some of the young ball players were able to take some tips home with them and will be throwing a mean curveball in no time.
